Dearest Love of My Life,
One day after acquiring my awesome red BEARd, I got to show
it off to my adopted brother-in-law Jonathan Tenhunen.
Don’t tell Kristin and Davin, but he is my favorite of the
Tenhunen Sibling Trio. He is one cool dude. He’s a bit more down to earth, and
actually on the “normal-human” scale unlike his older siblings who are two of
my favorite super intelligent weirdos.

Today we got to have a fun family adventure visiting temples
around Hong Kong. The Tenhunen siblings were just out to spend time together
and see some cool stuff, but I was looking for any sign that bears could be
happy living in Hong Kong.
The first thing I noticed was that Bears are not represented
in the 12 Chinese Zodiac animals. That honestly made me feel pretty unwelcome.
In addition, I saw another giant rabbit in Hong Kong. This one, along with 11
other animals representing each of the other Zodiac animals, was black and
stood very still. I think if you gave them money they would have moved for us but
we were too cheap—I mean frugal—to pay anything so we didn’t get to find out.
People seemed more interested in taking pictures with the
animals than in paying them for their skill at standing still, so it doesn’t
look like any of those fellows will be able to quit their day jobs any time
soon.
At another temple we saw 1,000 golden Buddhas, but no bears.
They were very friendly fellows. One of them even blessed Jona and Davin and
rubbed their beards and bellies!
The weather in Hong Kong was great! No sun, no humidity, and
no heat! It was nice and cold and even sprinkled a little! I loved it! I’m
happy that I’ll be able to stay out of hibernation for a little while.
Anyway, Hong Kong was a nice place to visit, but I’d never
be able move from glorious San Diego to a place that has elevated 12 animals
but not bears, AND which has more of those hideous giant rabbits!
I hope you are doing well! I look forward to continuing my
journey home to you.
Sending you 10,000 virtual kisses!
Your Loving Bear Husband,
Erich Tenhunen
