Dearest Princess and Friends,
D, K, and I disembarked in Sydney Australia today! I’m
afraid the weather here is unBEARably hot and humid! It’s not easy for a bear
to adapt to such a change in the middle of winter! I should really be
hibernating right now, so I choose to sleep some days instead of go out with
those two crazy siblings. It’s nice to have some days of peace and quiet
without them around talking about politics and other boring human things. I
think I’m going to miss my days sleeping on the Pacific Princess Cruise ship
balcony!
In Australia, I noticed immediately that they have a much
more liberal policy about allowing wild animals to live amongst humans in
public. This is a nice change from America where we must either be under
direct human supervision at all times, or live segregated in vast, expansive
wildlife “reserves”.
On just my first day, I saw three oddly colored Monkeys in
front of the Sydney Opera House, and a clan of what appeared to be giant ninja
Rabbits guarding the public transit terminal called Circular Quay. While we
were out touring, the most gigantic Rooster I’ve ever seen in my life was kind
enough to allow D to take a picture with him! The animals are all strangely
multi-colored and appear to glow at night. This is more than slightly
disturbing… I think the humans must be feeding them a diet consisting entirely
of Fruit Loops and Plutonium!
The freedom of the wildlife here in the Land Down Under is
nice, but since we have good humans to look after us, I think we will stay in
America, especially San Diego where there is no humidity, and where we are one
of the biggest animals in the land. No one messes with a Bear!
My dearest love, can you even imagine a rabbit being 100x
larger than us? AND trained in martial arts? No, no, no—Australia is filled
with truly dangerous and terrifying wildlife!
Miss you dearly my sweet Princess!
Your Loving Prince,
Erich Tenhunen
